Who Supports the People Who Support Everyone Else?

As therapists, we spend our days creating space for other people—their pain, fears, relationships, uncertainty, and struggles.

We listen. We stay present. We help people make sense of what they're experiencing.

But in the process of taking care of so many people, how often do we have a space to explore what is happening within us?

This free experience was created specifically for therapists—a place where you don't have to be the expert, have the answer, or take care of anyone else.

During our time together, you'll have an opportunity to:

  • Connect with yourself and what you're actually experiencing

  • Connect with other therapists who understand the realities of this work

  • Experience being supported without needing to fix, advise, perform, or have the answer

Because being connected to ourselves is just as important as taking care of our clients.

What Happens When the Therapist Gets to Be the One Being Supported?

Most of our professional lives are spent listening, observing, understanding, and being present for someone else.

In this experience, we're going to turn some of that attention toward ourselves.

JF has created a group dynamic specifically for therapists—a space where we can slow down, connect with what we're experiencing, and be with other professionals who understand what it means to do this work.

You don't need to teach, diagnose, fix, advise, or have the answer. You simply get to show up as yourself.

During the experience, you'll have an opportunity to:

  • Slow down and check in with yourself
Notice what you're carrying—not as something to analyze or fix, but as something worthy of your attention.

  • Be real with other therapists
Share what feels meaningful in a space with professionals who understand the unique demands of this work.

  • Experience support instead of providing it
For a little while, you don't have to be responsible for anyone else's process.

  • Practice connection without fixing
Experience what happens when we listen to one another without immediately analyzing, advising, or trying to change anything.

  • Reconnect with your own emotional experience
Develop greater awareness of what is happening within you and learn to stay connected to yourself even when emotions arise.

And Something Begins to Change in the Therapy Room

When we become more comfortable being present with our own emotional experience, we become more capable of staying present with someone else's.

Instead of immediately moving toward interpretation, solutions, or change, we can become more comfortable simply being with what is happening.

That connection-first way of being can naturally begin to influence how you sit with clients—especially in moments of uncertainty, emotional intensity, or vulnerability.

You experience the work for yourself first. Then you begin to see how it can change the way you work with others.

 What You May Experience

  • A chance to put down the therapist role
For two hours, you don't have to take care of anyone else. You can simply notice what is happening within you and allow yourself to be supported.
  • Connection with people who understand this work
Experience honest conversation with other therapists without needing to advise, analyze, or fix one another.
  • Greater connection with yourself
Become more aware of what you're feeling, what you're carrying, and what you may need—without judging or trying to change it.
  • The experience of being heard without being fixed
Discover what it feels like when someone stays connected with your experience rather than trying to move you away from it.

What You Experience Here Can Come With You

Something important can happen when we experience this kind of connection for ourselves. We become more familiar with staying present with emotion without immediately trying to change it.
That experience can begin to influence the way we sit with our clients.

→ More presence when a client is experiencing difficult emotions

→ More curiosity and less urgency to immediately understand, interpret, or fix

→ Greater awareness of what's happening within you while you're sitting with someone else

Connection with ourselves helps us become more available for genuine connection with others.

“It was truly a pleasure to be part of your Avive la Vie therapist support group. I appreciated how JF modeled reaching deep emotions and making connections. I have given 7 Avive la Vie books to various clients and initiated connection-based work through the individuals featured in the book. I would highly recommend clinicians to work with JF in a support group, as it has enhanced my work supporting my clients.”
